EGR Valve: Service and Repair
REMOVAL1. Remove the air cleaner outlet tube. Refer to Fuel Delivery and Air Induction.
2. Remove the EGR valve to exhaust manifold tube (if equipped).
1 Remove the two differential pressure feedback EGR sensor hoses.
2 Disconnect the EGR valve tube fittings.
3. Disconnect the EGR valve vacuum hose.
4. Remove the two bolts and the EGR valve.
^ Discard the gasket.
INSTALLATION
1. Carefully clean both sealing surfaces.
^ Install a new gasket.
NOTE: The EGR valve sealing surfaces are soft metal.
2. Install the EGR valve (if equipped).
^ Tighten the bolts in two stages.
^ Stage 1: Tighten the bolts to 20 Nm (15 lb-ft).
^ Stage 2: Tighten the bolts an additional 90 degrees.
3. Connect the vacuum line.
4. Connect the EGR tube fittings.
1 Connect the differential pressure feedback EGR sensor hoses.
2 Connect the EGR valve tube fittings.
5. Install the air cleaner outlet tube. For additional information, refer to Fuel Delivery and Air Induction.
