Removal
All vehicles
1. Disconnect both battery ground cables.





2. Disconnect the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor electrical connector and hose.





3. Remove the charge air cooler inlet tube.

Vehicles with auxiliary A/C system





4. Detach the heater water hoses.





5. Remove the stand-offs.

All vehicles





6. Detach the wiring harness.





7. Remove the oil level indicator tube.
1. Remove the nut.
2. Pull upward and remove the tube.





8. Disconnect the fuel injector/glow plug jumper nine pin electrical connector.
1. Disconnect the retaining clip.
2. Disconnect the nine pin connector.





9. Remove the ten bolts and the valve cover.





10. Remove the valve cover gasket.
1. Disconnect the four electrical connectors from the fuel injectors.
2. Disconnect the four electrical leads from the glow plugs.
^ Remove the gasket.
11. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
