Auxiliary Climate Control

REMOVAL
1. Perform the Refrigerant Discharging and Recovery Procedure. Refer to: Heating and Air Conditioning, Service and Repair, Refrigerant Discharging and Recovery Procedure Refrigerant Discharging and Recovery procedure

2. Remove the third row seat.
3. Position aside the RH quarter trim panel.
4. Remove the vehicle jack.







5. Remove 5 screws from the heater core cover.

NOTE: The remaining 3 screws securing the heater core cover will be removed once the air conditioning and heater assembly is removed.







6. Disconnect the electrical connectors and set the wiring assembly aside.







7. Remove the fasteners and remove the lower air duct.







8. Disconnect the refrigerant lines.

CAUTION: Place protective caps over the open refrigerant lines to avoid contamination of the A/C system.







9. Disconnect the evaporator case drain hose.







10. Remove the bolts and position the air conditioning and heater assembly aside.







11. Remove the remaining 3 screws from the heater core cover and remove the heater core.
12. Remove the air conditioning and heater assembly.

INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

NOTE:
^ Make sure to correctly assemble and seal the air conditioning and heater assembly to allow efficient operation of the auxiliary climate control system.
^ Lubricate the O-ring seals with PAG Refrigerant Compressor Oil (R-134a Systems) F7AZ-19589-DA (Motorcraft YN-12-C) or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSH-M1C231-B.
2. Evacuate, leak test and charge the A/C system. Refer to: Heating and Air Conditioning, Service and Repair, Evacuation and Charging Procedure Evacuation and Charging Procedure
