Spring - Shackle

Removal and Installation

1. Note: Both the left side and right side spring shackles arc removed and installed the same way. Only the left side is shown.

Raise and support the vehicle.

2. Remove the wheel and tire assembly.
3. Place a suitable jack under the front drive axle housing.





4. Remove the nut and bolt, and disconnect the shock absorber from the spring cap.





5. Remove the nut and bolt.





6. Remove the spring shackle from the leaf spring.
1 Lower the jack until the nut and bolt can be removed.
2 Remove the nut, bolt and the spring shackle.





7. Remove the bolts and the shackle bracket.

8. Note: The spring shackle retaining nuts and bolts must be tightened with the suspension supporting the weight of the vehicle.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
