Alternator: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to Battery.







2. Remove the bolt retaining the degas bottle and position the bottle aside.
3. Remove the supercharger drive belt. For additional information, refer to Drive Belts, Mounts, Brackets and Accessories.
4. Remove the accessory drive belt tensioner support bracket. For additional information, refer to Drive Belts, Mounts, Brackets and Accessories.







5. Remove the generator mounting bracket.
1 Loosen the lower generator brackets and remove the upper bracket bolts.
2 Disconnect the electrical connector from the generator bracket.







6. Remove the RH side lower bolt.







7. Remove the generator bracket.
1 Remove the bracket-to-engine bolt.
2 Remove the bracket-to-generator bolts.







8. Disconnect the generator electrical connectors.
^ Rotate generator to gain access and disconnect the voltage regulator connector.
^ Push the rubber cap onto the wire.
^ Remove the B+ nut and cable and remove the generator.

INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
