Installation





1. Install the Engine Lifting Bracket.





2. Install the flywheel.





3. Using the special tool, position the engine in the vehicle.
4. Remove the special tools.
5. Raise the vehicle on a hoist.





6. Install the engine support insulator through bolts.
7. If equipped with a manual transmission, install the clutch.
8. Install the transmission-to-engine bolts.
9. Install the starter motor.





10. Connect the exhaust flanges.
- Install the four nuts.





11. If equipped, connect the block heater electrical connector.
12. Lower the vehicle.





13. Connect the generator electrical connectors.
1 Connect the battery positive cable.
2 Install the battery positive nut and washer assembly.
3 Connect the two generator electrical connectors.
14. Install the fuel injectors and the fuel injectors supply manifold.
15. Connect the fuel lines.





16. Install a new upper intake manifold gasket.





17. Install the upper intake manifold. Tighten the bolts in sequence in two stages.
- Stage 1: Tighten the bolts to 6 Nm (59 inch lbs.).
- Stage 2: Tighten the bolts to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).
18. Install the fuel charging wire harness.





19. Install the power steering pump.
1 Position the pump.
2 Install the four bolts.





20. Note: Make sure the O-ring seals are in place.

Install the A/C compressor manifold.





21. Install the power steering reservoir.
1 Position the power steering reservoir.
2 Install the bolts.





22. Connect the Evaporative Emissions (EVAP) return tube.





23. Connect the fuel pressure regulator vacuum tube and the Intake Manifold Runner Control (IMRC) electrical connector.





24. Connect the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve vacuum connector.





25. Connect the brake booster vacuum hose.





26. Connect the two differential pressure feedback EGR transducer hoses.





27. Connect the heated PVC.
- Connect the PCV tube.
- Connect the two heater water hoses.





28. Connect the manifold vacuum connection.





29. Position the accelerator cable and, if equipped, the speed control actuator cable. Install the bolts.





30. Connect the accelerator cable end and, if equipped, the speed control actuator cable end.





31. Install the snow shield.
- Install the two bolts.
32. Install the radiator, fan blade assembly and fan shroud.
33. Install the engine air cleaner outlet tube.





34. Install the (A) upper radiator sight shield and the (B) screws.
35. Connect the battery.
36. Fill the engine with clean Super Premium SAE 5W-30 Motor Oil XO-5W30-QSP or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSS-M2C153-G.
37. Fill the engine cooling system.
38. Refill the A/C refrigerant system.
39. Install the hood.
40. If equipped with air suspension, reactivate the system by turning on the air suspension switch.
