Ignition Coil: Service and Repair
REMOVAL1. Disconnect the ignition coil electrical connections.
^ Disconnect the ignition coil electrical connector.
^ Disconnect the radio ignition interference capacitor connector.
2. Disconnect and remove the spark plug wires.
CAUTION: The spark plug wires must be connected to the correct ignition coil terminal. Mark the locations before removing the spark plug wire.
NOTE: Refer to the cylinder to coil tower relation indicated.
3. Remove the accelerator control snow shield.
1 Remove the bolts.
2 Remove the shield.
4. Disconnect the accelerator cable end and, if equipped, the speed control actuator cable end.
5. Disconnect the accelerator cable and, if equipped, the speed control actuator cable from the accelerator cable bracket.
6. Remove the accelerator cable bracket.
^ Remove the nut.
^ Remove the bolt.
7. Remove the ignition coil.
^ Remove the nuts.
^ Remove the stud bolt.
8. Inspect the ignition coil for carbon tracks or damage.
INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
