Disc - Motorhome ChassisRemoval
1. Remove the disc brake caliper anchor plate; refer to Brake Caliper Anchor Plate.
2. Remove the disc brake hub arid rotor as follows:
1. Remove the hub grease cap screws.
2. Remove the hub grease cap.
3. Remove the cotter pin.
4. Remove the spindle nut.
5. Remove the outer wheel bearing retainer washer.
6. Remove the outer wheel bearing.
7. Remove the hub grease cap gasket.
8. Remove the disc brake hub and rotor.
3. If necessary, resurface the disc brake hub and rotor. Ford recommends on-vehicle rotor machining. Follow the lathe manufacturer's instructions.
1. Remove the wheel hub grease seal.
2. Remove the inner wheel bearing.
Installation
1. Thoroughly clean and inspect the wheel bearings and the disc brake hub and rotor.
- Use Metal Brake Parts Cleaner F6AZ-2C410-AB or equivalent.
2. Lubricate the wheel bearings.
- Use Premium Long-Life Grease XG-1-C or XG-1-K or equivalent meeting Ford specification ESA-M1C75-B.
3. Install a new wheel hub grease seal.
1. Install the inner wheel bearing.
2. Install a new wheel hub grease seal.
4. Install the disc brake hub and rotor.
1. Position the disc brake hub and rotor.
2. Install the outer wheel bearing.
3. Install the outer wheel bearing retainer washer.
4. Install the spindle nut.
5. While rotating the disc brake hub and rotor, tighten the spindle nut.
6. Loosen the spindle nut two turns.
7. Tighten the spindle nut while rotating the disc brake hub and rotor.
8. Loosen the spindle nut.
9. Tighten the spindle nut while rotating the disc brake hub and rotor.
10. lnstall the following components:
1. Install the cotter pin.
2. Install the hub grease cap gasket.
3. Install the hub grease cap.
4. Install the hub grease cap screws.
11. Install the disc brake caliper anchor plate; refer to Brake Caliper Anchor Plate.
