Windshield Washer Pump: Service and Repair
REMOVAL1. Remove the washer reservoir.
1. Undo and raise the air filter housing.
2. Remove the bolt.
3. Pull out the filler neck.
2. Raise the vehicle. For additional information, refer to Maintenance/Service and Repair.
3. Remove the wheelhouse trim panel.
^ Remove six bolts.
^ Remove the trim panel.
4. Remove the washer reservoir.
^ Remove two bolts.
^ Disconnect two plugs.
^ Pull off three hoses.
5. Remove the washer pump with rubber gasket (shown with reservoir installed)
1. Separate the connector.
2. Disconnect the hoses.
3. Lift out the pump.
6. Remove the headlamp wash pump and rubber seal.
1. Separate the connector.
2. Disconnect the hoses.
3. Lift out the pump.
INSTALLATION
1. Press an additional cap onto the rear vent tube of the reservoir.
1. Front ventilation tube
2. Rear ventilation tube
3. Additional cap
NOTE: Procedure if there is a concern over washer system water coming from the filled windscreen washer reservoir when the vehicle accelerates or decelerates strongly.
2. Install the components in the reverse order.
^ Top up the washer reservoir.
NOTE: When installing the reservoir, the filler neck must be inserted using Vaseline.
3. Check the operation of the windscreen washer and headlamp washer systems.
