Coolant Line/Hose: Service and Repair

Removal

CAUTION: Do not use Extended Life Engine Coolant F6AZ-19544-AA meeting Ford specification WSS-M97B44-D (orange color).

CAUTION: Do not mix Standard (green) Coolant with Extended Life Coolant (orange).

1. Drain the engine cooling system.
2. Remove the air cleaner.





3. Disconnect the bypass hose.





4. Disconnect the hose.
5. Raise and support the vehicle.





6. Remove the bolt from the water bypass tube and position the bracket out of the way.
7. Lower the vehicle.





8. Remove the water bypass tube from the vehicle.

Installation





1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
2. Refill the engine cooling system.
