Exhaust System Alignment

Exhaust System Alignment
1. Raise the vehicle on a hoist.





2. Install the special tool.
3. Loosen the dual converter Y-pipe-to-exhaust system flex pipe bolts, exhaust system flex pipe-to-muffler and tailpipe assembly clamp and the exhaust manifold-to-dual converter Y-pipe nuts.





4. Note: Make sure that all exhaust hangers are hanging straight up and down.

Beginning at the front of the vehicle, align the exhaust system to establish the maximum clearance.





5. Tighten the four exhaust manifold-to-dual converter Y-pipe nuts.





6. Tighten the dual converter Y-pipe-to-exhaust system flex pipe bolts.
7. Tighten the exhaust system flex pipe -to-muffler and tailpipe clamp.
^ Remove the special tool.

8. Start the engine and check the exhaust system for leaks.
9. Lower the vehicle.
