Vehicle Damage Warnings
CAUTION:^ Do not allow the jack to contact the halfshafts or front wheel driveshaft and joints, steering linkage, suspension arms, stabilizer bar, or compress the stabilizer bar link insulators. Damage to suspension, exhaust and steering linkage components may occur if care is not exercised when positioning the jack to lift the vehicle.
^ Under no circumstances should the vehicle ever be lifted by the front or rear control arms, halfshafts or front wheel driveshaft and joints. Severe damage to the vehicle could result.
^ The service jack provided with the vehicle is only intended to be used in an emergency for changing a deflated tire. Never use the service jack to hoist the vehicle for any other service. Refer to the Owner Guide when using the jack supplied with the vehicle.
^ Do not attempt to use jack pressure on either the front bumper or the rear bumper of any unitized vehicle. Damage to bumper covers will occur.
^ Do not allow the hoist adapters to contact the halfshafts or front wheel driveshaft and joints, steering linkage, suspension arms, stabilizer bar, or compress the stabilizer bar link insulators. Damage to suspension, exhaust and steering linkage components may occur if care is not exercised when positioning the hoist adapters of two-post hoists prior to lifting the vehicle.
^ Under no circumstances should the vehicle ever be lifted by the front or rear control arms, halfshafts or front wheel drives haft and joints. Severe damage to the vehicle could result.
^ To prevent possible damage to the underbody, do not drive the vehicle onto the drive-on lift without first checking for possible interference between the upright flanges of the hoist rails and the underbody. If there is interference, the lift flanges should be modified as necessary and the approach ramps built up to provide the necessary clearance.
^ Do not carry out the Engine Load Test for more than five seconds or damage to the transmission or transaxle can result.
^ Limit engine running time to one minute or less with belts removed or serious engine damage will result.
^ Never probe moving parts.
^ Do not hold the steering wheel against the stops for more than three to five seconds at a time. Damage to the power steering pump will occur.
^ Do not install brake discs that are less than the minimum thickness specified. Do not machine a brake disc below the minimum thickness specification.
^ Do not use a bench lathe to machine brake discs.
^ Do not twist or strain the powertrain/drivetrain mounts.
^ Make sure the system is warmed up to normal operating temperature, as thermal expansion can be the cause of a strain problem.
