Catalyst Shield: Service and Repair
Heat Shield - Catalytic Converter and Muffler1. Raise the vehicle.
2. Inspect the catalytic converter and muffler for loose or missing heat shields.
3. Install worm clamps for heat shields that are loose.
^ Use one of the following clamps: F0TZ-5A231-A or W705949-S300.
^ Trim off the excess ear of the worm clamp.
4. If the heat shields are missing, install new heat shields. If new heat shields are not available, install a new catalytic converter.
5. Lower the vehicle.
