Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.
Manuals through 2025 now available!

Our trusted friends have launched a new website named LEMON, which has newer manuals. It also contains all the CHARM manuals.

LEMON is the spiritual successor to CHARM, I recommend you try it!

Lean Correction-Front

1. Measure the distance from the wheelhouse opening to the ground at the same point on both sides of the vehicle.
2. Note the difference, if any, and refer to Vehicle Lean in Specifications to determine if lean correction is required.
3. Compare the original and a new front coil spring.
1 If lean correction is required, remove the high side front coil spring.
2 Compare the height of the original front coil spring with a new one with the same part number. Note the difference.
4. Replace the front coil spring.
1 If the original front coil spring exceeds the height of the new one by 13 mm (1/2 inch), install the new front coil spring in the vehicle.
2 If the original front coil spring is shorter than the new one by at least 13 mm (1/2 inch), remove the low side front coil spring from the vehicle.
5. Compare all three front coil springs and select the two most evenly matched for installation.
6. Install the tallest replacement front coil spring on the low side of the vehicle.
