Torque Specifications





Cylinder Heads
Install the cylinder heads.
^ Use new gaskets and bolts.
^ Tighten the bolts in three stages in the sequence shown:
- Stage 1: 20 Nm (14 ft. lbs.)
- Stage 2: 40 Nm (29 ft. lbs.)
- Stage 3: 50 Nm (36 ft. lbs.)





CAUTION: Do not loosen all of the bolts at one time. Each bolt must be loosened and the final tightening completed prior to working on the next bolt in the sequence.

In the sequence shown, loosen the bolt three turns, then tighten the (A) short bolt or (B) long bolt to the specification indicated, and then further tighten the bolt to the (C) degrees indicated.






Upper Intake Manifold
Tighten the bolts in the sequence shown in two stages:
^ Stage 1: Tighten to 6 Nm (53 inch lbs.).
^ Stage 2: Tighten to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).






Lower Intake Manifold
Tighten the bolts in two stages in the sequence shown:
^ Stage 1: Tighten the bolts to 5 Nm (44 inch lbs.).
^ Stage 2: Tighten the bolts to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).






Intake Manifold Spacer Assembly
Install the intake manifold spacer assembly. Tighten the bolts in two steps in the sequence shown.
^ Stage 1: Tighten to 6 Nm (53 inch lbs.).
^ Stage 2: Tighten to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).






LH Exhaust Manifold
Tighten to 20-30 Nm (15-22 ft.lb).






RH Exhaust Manifold
Tighten to 20-30 Nm (15-22 ft.lb).
