TRIM - DIP IN CENTER OF INSTRUMENT PANEL

ISSUE
Some vehicles may exhibit a dip in the center of the Instrument Panel. This may be caused by the Instrument Panel having a low attachment point with the steel body bracket.
ACTION
Refer to the following Service Procedure for details.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
Identify the dip condition (Figure 1).
1. Remove center attachment cover (Figure 2).
2. Remove center attachment bolt (Figure 3).
3. Remove radio (Figure 4).
4. Add/slide washer into place between the Instrument Panel and steel body bracket attachment (Figures 5 and 6). This will raise the instrument panel in the center.
NOTE
BASED ON SEVERITY OF I/P DIP, ADD SHIMS AS REQUIRED (NOT TO EXCEED 4 MM). PART NUMBER 9995 20800 IS 1.6 MM THICK WASHER AND 9995 10818 IS 2.3 MM. THE WASHERS CAN BE COMBINED TO GET 3.9 MM.
5. Once spacer/washer is in place, reinstall radio, secure center attachment bolt, and replace top instrument panel attachment cover. Verify dip condition is corrected (Figure 7).
