Cross-Member: Service and Repair

CROSSMEMBER

Removal
1. Remove the rear stabilizer bar (5A772).







2. Remove the two rear brake hose support brackets (2073) and disconnect the hose.







3. Remove the 3-way connector (2K572).







4. NOTE: Mark the position of both alignment shims prior to removal.

Remove the rear suspension alignment shims and bolts.







5. Position a (A) jack under the (B) rear floor cross member (10716).







6. Remove the four rear floor crossmember bolts.







7. Remove the rear suspension arm and bushing (front) nut.







8. Remove the rear suspension arm and bushing (front) bolt and remove the rear suspension arm and bushing (5500).
9. Lower the rear floor cross member from the vehicle.

Installation

















1. NOTE: Check the rear alignment and adjust as necessary; refer to Suspension.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
