Powertrain Control Module - Manual Transaxle

REMOVAL

CAUTION: Electronic modules are sensitive to static electrical charges. If the modules are exposed to these charges, damage may result. Refer to Module Communication Network (Information Bus) for module service precautions.

NOTE: Zetec shown, S/R series similar.

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Remove the parking brake and shift consoles.







3. Remove the gearshift knob and boot.







4. Loosen the bolt and disconnect the electrical connector.







5. Slide the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) straight out.

INSTALLATION







1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
