Safety Belt Bolt Bit:
SPECIAL TOOL(S)
REMOVAL
All vehicles
1. If equipped, remove the roof console.
2. Remove the front and rear auxiliary air conditioning controls.
3. Remove the sun visors.
4. Remove the sun visor arm clips.
5. Remove the grab handles.
6. Remove the coat hooks.
Both sides
7. Remove the shoulder belt guide.
1 Carefully position the shoulder belt guide cover up.
2 Remove the nut.
3 Remove the shoulder belt guide.
NOTE: New safety belt buckles, height adjusters, center adjust tongues and belts and retractors can be installed separately. However, if a safety belt assembly was in use during a collision, the belt and retractor must be installed as well as the center adjust tongue and belt and buckle assembly or the center adjust tongue and the cable and buckle assembly. When installing new safety belts and buckles, height adjusters, safety cables and buckles, center adjust tongues and belt and retractors, use only the installation parts specified in the Ford Master Parts Catalogs for the make and model of the vehicle being serviced. Safety belt assemblies must not be interchanged between vehicle models.
8. Remove the front door scuff plate, the rear door scuff plate, the rear assist handle and the B-pillar trim panel.
Drivers side
9. Remove the front driver side belt anchor.
1 Using the special tool 501-010 (T77L-2100-A), remove the bolts.
2 Remove the front safety belt anchor.
Passenger side
10. Remove the front passenger side safety belt anchor.
1 Using the special tool 501-010 (T77L-2100-A), remove the bolt.
2 Remove the front safety belt anchor.
11. Remove the A-pillar trim panel.
12. Remove the third row seat.
13. Pull down to release the clips and remove the rear hatch upper trim panel.
14. Pull out to release the clips and remove the D-pillar trim panel.
15. Pull out where indicated on the second row safety belt guide cover and open.
16. Remove the second row safety belt guide.
1 Remove the nut.
2 Remove the safety belt guide.
CAUTION: If the safety belt retractor is to be reused, do not allow the safety belt to be retracted all the way into the retractor. Doing so may cause the retractor to lock and not release the safety belt.
17. Remove the third row safety belt guide.
1 Peel the safety belt guide cover down to access the bolt.
2 Using the special tool 501-010 (T77L-2100-A), remove the bolt.
3 Remove the safety belt guide.
CAUTION: If the safety belt retractor is to be reused, do not allow the safety belt to be retracted all the way into the retractor. Doing so may cause the retractor to lock and not release the safety belt.
18. Pull to release the retaining Clips and remove the C-pillar trim panel.
19. Remove the front and rear courtesy lamp lens, then remove the screws.
20. Remove the center courtesy lamps.
^ Insert a small screwdriver and unclip locking tab.
21. Disconnect the electrical connector and remove from the vehicle.
22. Remove the rear courtesy lamp.
^ Insert a small screwdriver and unclip locking tab.
23. Disconnect the courtesy lamp electrical connector and remove from the vehicle.
24. Remove the front headliner pushpins.
25. Remove the center headliner pushpins.
26. Remove the rear headliner pushpins.
27. Tilt the headliner toward the driver side of the vehicle and disconnect the rear air conditioning duct.
28. Remove the headliner from the vehicle.
INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
