Alternator: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery. For additional information, refer to Battery Service and Repair.
2. Remove the air cleaner outlet tube. For additional information, refer to Fuel Delivery and Air Induction.
3. Remove the drive belt. For additional information, refer to Drive Belts,Mounts,Brackets and Accessories.







4. Disconnect the wiring harness to voltage regulator electrical connector.







5. Remove the B+ terminal cover.







6. Remove the B+ terminal electrical connector.
1 Remove the B+ terminal nut.
2 Disconnect the B+ terminal electrical connector.







7. Position the A/C manifold and tube bracket aside.
1 Remove the nut.
2 Position the A/C manifold and tube bracket aside.







8. Remove the wiring harness-to-generator pin-type retainer.







9. Remove the Generator (GEN).
1 Remove the stud bolt.
2 Remove the bolts.
3 Remove the generator.

INSTALLATION

















1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
