Horn: Description and Operation

The horn system consists of the the following components:
^ steering wheel horn switches
^ horn relay (located in the Battery Junction Box [BJB])
^ horns (located in the left front corner above the fender apron)
^ clockspring
^ Remote Anti-theft Personality (RAP) module
^ central security module

Vehicles built before 07/24/2000 are equipped with a RAP module.

Vehicles built after 07/24/2000 are equipped with a central security module.

Horn Switch, Steering Wheel Mounted
The horn switches are underneath the driver side air bag module in the steering wheel. The switches are powered through the clockspring and are grounded through the steering column.
