EGR Valve: Service and Repair
REMOVAL1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Disconnect the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve electrical connector.
3. Drain the cooling system.
4. Remove the transmission.
5. Support the motor with an appropriate jack stand.
CAUTION: Use a block of wood between the oil pan and the jack stand to prevent oil pan damage.
6. Disconnect the cooling hose.
7. Remove the bolts and the EGR valve.
^ Discard the gasket.
INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
NOTE: Clean the gasket mating surfaces and install a new gasket.
