Accumulator HVAC: Service and Repair

REMOVAL







1. Perform the Refrigerant Discharging and Recovery Procedure.







2. Remove the two bolts and remove the roll restrictor.







3. Remove the bolts and position aside the roll restrictor bracket.







4. Remove the nut.







5. Remove the stud.







6. Position the degas bottle aside.
1 Disconnect the hose.
2 Remove the bolt and nut. Position the degas bottle aside.

7. Disconnect the suction accumulator spring lock coupling. Remove and discard the O-ring seal.
- During installation, install a new O-ring seal lubricated with PAG Refrigerant Compressor Oil (R-134a Systems) F7AZ-19589-DA (Motorcraft YN-12-C), or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSH-M1C231-B.







8. Disconnect the A/C cycling switch electrical connector.







9. Disconnect the suction accumulator spring lock coupling. Remove and discard the O-ring seal.
- During installation, install a new O-ring seal lubricated with PAG Refrigerant Compressor Oil (R-134a Systems) F7AZ-19589-DA (Motorcraft YN-12-C), or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSH-M1C231-B.







10. Remove the screw.
11. Remove the suction accumulator.

INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
2. Evacuate, leak test and charge the A/C system.
