Doors, Hood and Trunk: Description and Operation

The body closures system consists of the following components:
^ door checks
^ front doors
^ front doors latch strikers

^ hood weatherstrip
^ rear doors
^ rear doors latch strikers
^ rear door hinges
^ rear door opening weatherstrips

The doors are attached to the body by two pin-type hinges and are also equipped with a door hinge check which limits the travel of the door.

The hood is attached to the body by two hood hinges and is supported when open by a hood support rod.

The liftgate is attached to the body by two liftgate hinges. The liftgate hydraulic lifts aid in opening and supporting the liftgate.
