Fuel Injector Wiring Harness: Service and Repair
REMOVALWARNING: DO NOT SMOKE OR CARRY LIGHTED TOBACCO OR OPEN FLAME OF ANY TYPE WHEN WORKING ON OR NEAR ANY FUEL-RELATED COMPONENTS. HIGHLY FLAMMABLE MIXTURES ARE ALWAYS PRESENT AND MAY BE IGNITED. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS MAY RESULT IN PERSONAL INJURY.
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Remove the splash shield.
3. Remove the air cleaner outlet tube.
1 Loosen the clamps.
2 Disconnect the hoses.
3 Remove the outlet tube.
4. Disconnect the fuel charging wiring harness connections.
5. Remove the fuel charging wiring harness from the clips on the bulkhead.
6. Raise and support the vehicle.
7. Detach then disconnect the wiring harness side of the left and right Heated Exhaust Gas Oxygen (HEGO) sensor connectors.
8. Disconnect the Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor electrical connector and the wiring anchor.
9. Disconnect the A/C compressor electrical connector.
10. Lower the vehicle.
11. Disconnect the eight fuel injector and ignition coil electrical connectors.
12. Disconnect the Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor electrical connector.
13. Disconnect the Cylinder Head Temperature (CHT) sensor electrical connector.
14. Disconnect the Differential Pressure Feedback EGR (DPFE) transducer electrical connector.
15. Disconnect the Knock Sensor (KS) electrical connector and wiring harness pin-type retainer.
16. Disconnect the Throttle Position (TP) sensor and the Idle Air Control (IAC) valve electrical connectors.
17. Disconnect the EGR Vacuum Regulator Valve (EVR) electrical connector.
18. Remove the fuel charging wiring harness.
INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
