Front Door Window Regulator: Service and Repair

Heavy Duty Riverter:

SPECIAL TOOL(S)

REMOVAL
1. Remove the door speaker.







2. Remove the screws and the trim panel brace.
3. Remove the front door watershield.
4. Lower the window glass.







5. Remove the window glass to regulator nuts.
6. Raise the window glass to the full closed position.







7. Disconnect the front door window regulator motor electrical connector.







8. Remove the front door window regulator.
1 Remove the nuts.
2 Drill out the rivets.
3 Remove the window regulator.







9. If equipped, remove the bolts and the power window motor.

CAUTION: Prior to motor removal, make sure the regulator arms are in a fixed position to prevent counterbalance spring unwind.

INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
^ Cycle the doors to make sure the gears engage.

NOTE: Use the special tool to install the rivets.
