Throttle Cable/Linkage: Description and Operation
Component Location:
The throttle is controlled by the accelerator cable which is attached to the accelerator pedal and shaft.
^ The accelerator pedal and shaft must travel smoothly from idle to the wide open throttle position. Hesitation on return or prevention of return to the idle position must not occur.
^ Components such as wiring, hoses, sound insulation or carpet must not contact the sliding member of the accelerator cable or the accelerator pedal and shaft.
^ The throttle assembly is not adjustable.
