Heater Control Valve: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Drain the engine coolant.
2. Remove the auxiliary coolant flow pump.







3. Disconnect the heater hose quick disconnect fittings.







4. Disconnect the heater hose quick disconnect fitting.







5. Remove the bolts and position aside the hydraulic cooling fan reservoir.







6. Release the clamp and disconnect the heater hose.







7. Disconnect the electrical connector.
8. Raise the vehicle.







9. Remove the dual coolant flow valve bracket bolts.
10. Lower the vehicle.
11. Remove the dual coolant flow valve with the hoses and bracket still attached.
12. If installing a new dual coolant flow valve, transfer the hoses and the bracket from the old unit to the new unit.

INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Clean and lubricate the coolant hoses with coolant hose lubricant or plain water only if needed.
2. Fill the engine coolant level.
