Engine Temperature Sensor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Remove the intake manifold.







2. Disconnect the Cylinder Head Temperature (CHT) sensor electrical connector.







3. Remove and discard the CHT sensor.

INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

CAUTION: The tip of the CHT sensor must contact the cylinder head at the bottom of the hole. When removed, it will be slightly crushed. This is a normal condition.

NOTE: 3.9L CHT sensors are not to be reused. Always install a new sensor.
