Exhaust Downpipe - F-Super Duty, 6.0L Diesel

Removal and Installation

Vehicles with automatic transmission





1. Remove the transmission fluid level indicator.





2. Remove the nut.

All vehicles





3. Loosen the clamp and disconnect the downpipe from the turbocharger.





4. Remove the nuts and the RH intake heat shield.
5. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position on a hoist.





6. Disconnect the wire loom from the cross member.
7. Using a suitable high-lift transmission jack, support the transmission.





8. Remove the nuts.





9. Remove the nuts, bolts and the RH crossmember bracket.





10. Remove the RH crossmember nuts and bolts.





11. Remove the LH crossmember bolts.
^ Remove the crossmember.

Vehicles with automatic transmission





12. Separate the transmission fluid filler tube and position aside.

4x4 vehicles





13. Remove the nut, washer and bolt.





14. Remove the nut, washer, bolt and the right front stabilizer bar link.

All vehicles





15. NOTE: Lower the transmission jack approximately 25 mm (1 inch) to ease the removal of the downpipe.

Remove the nuts, bolts and the downpipe.
16. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
