DETERMINING ELIGIBLE CLAIMS AND AMOUNTS
Since Ford Motor Company records indicate which claims had the deductible error, the date of the repair(s) and invoice (repair order) number(s) will be listed on the customer notification letter. As a result, customers will be notified regarding the specific eligible repair(s) where they may have paid all or part of the deductible. Notification is based on the actual owner of record on the date of repair. In some cases, the deductible may have been covered in part or total by the dealership. Owners are only eligible for a deductible that they actually paid for out-of-pocket. Also, dealers may claim the amount of these deductibles that they have paid.
We have done our best to determine the owner of the vehicle at the time the deductible was charged. However, it may be possible that the vehicle changed ownership near the date of a repair and a different owner actually paid the deductible. For this reason if an owner does not have their customer notification letter or they have an invoice that is not listed on their letter, dealers must first check OASIS to determine if 08B02 or 48B01 are open for the vehicle. If neither program is open, the deductible is not reimbursable. If one of the programs is open, the dealer should then call the Special Service Support Center (SSSC) to determine if the invoice number is valid for that VIN.
NOTE CONCERNING INVOICES:
It is not necessary for the customer to have a copy of the invoice as long as the dealer has a record of the invoice that shows who paid the deductible. Please assist customers that had repairs performed at your dealership to determine who (customer or dealer) is eligible for the deductible refund. Customers must have a copy of the invoice showing who paid the deductible if the dealership does not have a record of the repair.
The characteristics of eligible claims are:
^ A repair where "9E527", "9VE527", or a "9F593" base part number was the causal part.
^ Only claims submitted between January 2003 and September 2007 are eligible for reimbursement.
^ Vehicle has either "08B02" or "48B01" displayed in OASIS.
^ The invoice number is listed on the customer notification letter or verified by the SSSC. Customer or Dealer paid portion of a deductible up to $100 per repair.
