Throttle Cable/Linkage: Description and Operation
The diesel engine does not use an accelerator cable. Instead uses an accelerator sensor assembly located on the accelerator pedal assembly. This drive-by-wire system is entirely electronic and, except for the accelerator pedal assembly, does not use mechanically moving parts. The accelerator sensor assembly is not adjustable. The adjustable accelerator pedal is driven by a cable connected to a motor mounted on the brake pedal assembly. The driver adjusts the pedal position by operating a switch mounted in the instrument panel.
