Fuel Injector: Service and Repair
FUEL INJECTION SUPPLY MANIFOLD AND FUEL INJECTORWARNING:
- Do not smoke or carry lighted tobacco or open flame of any type when working on or near any fuel-related components. Highly flammable mixtures are always present and may be ignited. Failure to follow these instructions can result in personal injury.
- Fuel in the fuel system remains under high pressure even when the engine is not running. Before working on or disconnecting any of the fuel tubes or fuel system components, the fuel system pressure must be relieved. Failure to follow these instructions can result in personal injury.
REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Release the fuel system pressure.
3. Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe.

Item 24: Throttle Body Adapter Removal Note
1. CAUTION: Do not use metal scrapers, wire brushes, power abrasive discs or other abrasive means to clean the sealing surfaces. These tools cause scratches and gouges that make leak paths. Use a plastic scraping tool to clean the sealing surfaces.
Clean and inspect the sealing surfaces. Inspect and install a new gasket, if necessary.
Item 31: Fuel Injector O-Ring Removal Note
1. Install new O-rings on the fuel injectors. Lubricate the new fuel injector O-rings with clean engine oil.
INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
