Transfer Case Draining and Filling





1. CAUTION: Incorrect fluid fill can result in transfer case failure.

Remove the till plug, and check the fluid level through the fill plug hole.
^ The fluid must be just below the fill plug hole. If necessary, till the transfer case with MERCON Multi-Purpose (ATF) Transmission Fluid XT-2-QDX or equivalent. The total transfer case fill capacity is 1.2 Liter (2.5 pints).
