Disassembly and Assembly
Strut and Spring AssemblyDisassembly
1. Remove the strut and spring assembly.
2. WARNING: As the spring is under extreme tension care must be taken at all times. Failure to follow this instruction may result in personal injury.
Using a suitable coil spring compressor, compress the spring.
3. CAUTION: Use an Allen key to prevent the piston rod rotating.
Loosen the thrust bearing nut.
4. Disassemble the strut and spring assembly.
1 Remove the piston rod nut.
2 Remove the top mount and top mount bearing.
3 Remove the upper spring seat.
4 Remove the strut.
5 Remove the bump stop.
6 Remove the boot.
Assembly
1. CAUTION: Make sure the spring ends butt correctly against the spring seats, color code at the bottom. Make sure the bump stop is installed with the flat surface uppermost.
To assemble, reverse the disassembly procedure.
