PAINT PEELING/CRACKING ON CENTER FINISH PANEL

2001-2004 Explorer Sport Trac
2003-2004 Ranger

ISSUE
Some 2001-2003 Explorer Sport, 2001-2004 Explorer Sport Trac, and 2003-2004 Ranger vehicles may exhibit peeling, cracking and/or bubbling paint on the center finish panel of the instrument panel.

ACTION
Replace the center finish panel. Record the radio stations before removing the panel. Reprogram the radio before returning the vehicle to the customer.

NOTE
PRIOR TO INSTALLING THE NEW CENTER FINISH PANEL, LIGHTLY GREASE THE BACK SIDE OF THE NEW PANEL WITH ANTI-SQUEAK LUBRICANT, PART NUMBER D2AZ-19590-A (XG-8), TO PREVENT INSTRUMENT PANEL NOISE. AVOID GETTING GREASE ON THE FACE OF THE PANEL.
