Fuel Injector: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Relieve the fuel pressure.
3. Remove the upper intake manifold.







4. Disconnect the engine control sensor wiring from the fuel injectors.
5. Disconnect the fuel hose.







6. Disconnect the vacuum hose.







7. Remove the fuel injection supply manifold.
^ Remove the four bolts.
^ Remove the fuel injection supply manifold and the fuel injectors as an assembly.







8. Remove the fuel injectors.

INSTALLATION







1. Inspect the two O-ring seals from each fuel injector. Install new O-ring seals as needed.







2. Install the fuel injectors.

NOTE: Lubricate the O-ring seals with clean engine oil.







3. Install the fuel injection supply manifold.







4. Connect the vacuum hose.







5. Connect the fuel hose.







6. Connect the fuel injector electrical connectors.
7. Install the upper intake manifold.
8. Connect the battery ground cable.
