Front axle lubricant 3.6 pts (1.7L)

Rear axle lubricant

Rear Axle 5.0-5.3 pts (2.4-2.5L)

Rear Axle (FX-4 only) 5.25-5.5 pts (2.5-2.6)

Traction-Lok axles use 4.75-5.0 pts (2.2-2.4L) of rear axle lubricant.

Add 4 oz. (118 ml) of Additive Friction Modifier XL-3 or equivalent meeting Ford specification ESE-M2C118-A for complete fill of Traction-Lok axles.

Service refill capacities are determined by filling the axle to 1/4 - 9/16 inch (6-14mm) below the bottom of the filler hole.
