Normal Operation
The convertible top switch supplies a ground signal for the front electronics module (FEM) on circuits 8-AG15 (WH/RD) and 10-AG15 (GY/RD). The FEM sends the signal to the rear electronics module (REM) over the standard corporate protocol (SCP) communication link. The REM grounds (using either circuit 10-AG24 or circuit 8-AG16) the appropriate relay to direct power through the convertible top motor to raise or lower the convertible top. When the raise or lower relay is operating, the other relay remains in its normal state and supplies the motor/pump ground.
Possible Causes
- An open on circuits: 8-AG15 (WH/RD), 8-AG16 (WH/BU), 10-AG15 (GY/RD), 10-AG24 (GY/OG), 30-AG16 (RD/OG), 30-AG17 (RD/GN), 30-AG24 (RD/GN), 30-AG25 (RD/BK), 31-AG15 (BK/BU), 31-AG24 (BK/GN), 32-AG14 (WH) or 33-AG14 (YE)
- circuit 30-AG24 (RD/GN) shorted to ground
- circuit 30-AG16 (RD/OG) shorted to ground
- convertible top raise relay
- convertible top lower relay
- convertible top circuit
- hardtop sense switch
- rear battery junction box (BJB)
- rear battery junction box (BJB) fuse 31 (40A)
