Brakes and Traction Control: Locations

This Anti-Lock Brake Control System (ABS) is not equipped with an external ABS Relay. According to wiring diagrams provided by Ford, the function of the ABS relay is INCORPORATED INTO THE ABS MODULE. ABS specific diagnostic codes, C1115 (Power Relay Output Short to Battery) and C1185 (Power Relay Output Circuit Failure) are associated with pinpoint test F Antilock Brakes / Traction Control Systems pinpoint test F. In pinpoint test F3, and using special Tool EEC-IV 60-Pin Breakout Box 418-005 (014-00322) or equivalent Tool, measure the resistance between Breakout Box Pin 8, circuit 1205 (BK), and ground; and between Breakout Box pin 24, circuit 1205 BK) and ground. If the resistance is less then 5 ohms, INSTALL A NEW MODULE. Electronic Brake Control Module After installation of a new ABS module, clear the DTCs. and repeat the self test. Pinpoint Test F completes the testing of the ABS POWER RELAY.
