Power Steering System Filling

1. WARNING: Do not mix oil types. Any mixture or any unapproved oil could lead to seal deterioration and leaks. A leak could ultimately cause loss of fluid, which could result in a loss of power steering assist. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury.

CAUTION: Do not overfill the reservoir.

Remove the power steering pump reservoir cap and fill the reservoir.
^ Use approved transmission fluid.
2. Raise the front wheels off the floor.
3. Start the vehicle and immediately turn the ignition off to fill the components in the power steering system.

4. CAUTION: Do not overfill the reservoir.

Fill the reservoir.
5. Start the vehicle and immediately turn the ignition off to fill the components in the power steering system.

6. CAUTION: Do not overfill the reservoir.

Fill the reservoir.

7. CAUTION: Do not hold the steering wheel against the stops for more than 3 to 5 seconds at a time. Damage to the power steering pump can occur.

Start the vehicle and turn the steering wheel from stop-to-stop 10 times.
8. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.

9. CAUTION: Do not overfill the reservoir.

Fill the reservoir as needed and install the reservoir cap.
10. Visually inspect the power steering system for leaks.
11. Lower the vehicle.
