60/40, Crew Cab

REAR SEAT BACKREST - 60/40, CREW CAB

DISASSEMBLY

All seats
1. Remove the 60/40 rear seat.
2. Remove the 60 percent or 40 percent backrest.







3. Remove the head restraint.
1 Pull the head restraint out to end of travel. Press the release button and pull the head restraint rod past its stop position.
2 Using a flat-bladed screwdriver, press the release tab on the second head restraint rod guide and pull the head restraint free of the seat back.







4. NOTE: The LH and RH head restraint sleeves are not interchangeable. Note location for installation.

Using an appropriate pry tool, press in the release tab and remove the head restraint rod sleeves.
- Release tab is located beneath the head restraint release tab.







5. Remove the backrest recliner handle clip and remove the handle.

6. NOTE: When removing the bolts, make sure to retain the washers from behind the armrest swivel arms.

Remove the four armrest bolts (two shown) and remove the armrest assembly.







7. Remove the two pin-type retainers and remove the plastic insert panel.

All seats







8. Release the J-clip.







9. Remove the RH staples.







10. Remove the LH staples.







11. CAUTION: Use care when separating the seat backrest trim cover from the hook-and-loop strip, or the hook-and-loop strip can be torn from the seat backrest foam.

Invert the seat backrest trim cover and release the hook-and-loop strips.







12. Remove all the hog rings and remove the backrest trim cover.







13. Remove the screws and the hardboard panel.
14. Remove the foam pad from the backrest frame.

60 percent seat







15. Release the inboard cable end.
1 Using a suitable tool, pry to release the cable anchor.
2 Swivel the cable end and remove.







16. Detach all the cable clips (one shown).







17. Release the outboard cable end.
1 Using a suitable tool, pry to release the cable anchor.
2 Swivel the cable end and remove.







18. Remove the outboard backrest latch bolts and remove the latch.







19. Remove the inboard backrest latch bolts and remove the latch.

40 percent seat







20. NOTE: Use care not to damage the plastic pivot bushing. If damaged, install a new bushing.

Using a suitable tool, carefully pry the inboard backrest bracket from the plastic pivot bushing.







21. Remove the outboard backrest latch bolts and remove the latch.

ASSEMBLY

All seats
1. To assemble, reverse the disassembly procedure.
