Normal Operation
The smart junction box (SJB) receives voltage from circuit 785 (BK/LG). The SJB sends a reference signal to the multifunction switch through circuit 1033 (RD/YE). When the multifunction switch is switched to the headlamps ON position, the voltage signal is routed to ground through circuit 570 (BK/WH). When the SJB detects the multifunction switch in the headlamps ON position, the SJB sends voltage to the headlamps. When the SJB detects the multifunction switch in the headlamps ON and low beam positions, the SJB sends voltage through circuits 161 (DG/OG) (RH headlamp) and 160 (DB/WH) (LH headlamp) to the low beam headlamps. Circuit 57 (BK) is the ground circuit for the headlamps.

Possible Causes
- circuit 160 (DB/WH) short to ground
- circuit 161 (DG/OG) short to ground
- circuit 785 (BK/LG) open
- circuit 1033 (RD/YE) open
- multifunction switch
- SJB
