Test L2-L3:
Normal Operation
The charging system warning indicator is controlled by the instrument cluster based upon data received from the powertrain control module (PCM). The instrument cluster sets DTC B1317 if the battery voltage exceeds 16.5 volts DC ± 0.5 volts DC, when the ignition switch is in the START/RUN position. The instrument cluster sets DTC B1318 if battery voltage drops to less than 9 volts DC ± 0.5 volts DC, when the ignition switch is in the START/RUN position.
Possible Causes
- charging system
- PCM
- instrument cluster
