Normal Operation
The instrument cluster receives the safety belt switch status from the restraint control module (RCM) through circuit 1083 (LB/PK). The RCM signals the instrument cluster when the safety belt is unfastened by grounding circuit 1083 (LB/PK). A safety belt minder chime that is operating correctly indicates that the RCM is monitoring and transmitting the correct operation of the safety belt status to the instrument cluster.

Possible Causes
- circuit 1083 (LB/PK) open, short to power, or short to ground
- RCM
- instrument cluster
