Fuel Injector Wiring Harness: Service and Repair

Removal and Installation
1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.
2. Remove the alternator.
3. Remove the upper intake manifold.
4. Disconnect the 2 16-pin electrical connectors.
5. Disconnect the fuel rail pressure and temperature sensor electrical connector.
6. Disconnect the power steering pressure (PSP) sensor electrical connector.
7. Disconnect the six fuel injector electrical connectors.
8. Disconnect the 6 coil-on-plug electrical connectors.
9. Disconnect the coolant temperature sensor electrical connector.
10. Disconnect the radio interference capacitor electrical connector.
11. Disconnect the camshaft position (CMP) sensor electrical connector.
12. Disconnect the oil pressure sensor electrical connector.
13. Disconnect the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor electrical connector.







14. Detach the 2 wiring harness retainers.







15. NOTE: 3 harness retainers are shown, others are similar.

Detach the 7 wiring harness retainers.







16. NOTE: 2 harness retainers are shown, the 3rd one is similar.

Detach the 3 wiring harness retainers.







17. Detach the 2 pin-type wiring harness retainers and remove the fuel charging wiring harness from the engine.
18. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
