Accumulator HVAC: Service and Repair

SUCTION ACCUMULATOR

Removal and Installation
1. Recover the refrigerant.







2. Disconnect the A/C cycling switch connector.







3. CAUTION: To prevent damage to the fitting and the tube, use a backup wrench when loosening or tightening the fitting nut.

Disconnect the evaporator core outlet tube.
- Discard the O-ring seal.







4. Disconnect the auxiliary fitting.
- Discard the O-ring seal.







5. Disconnect the manifold and tube assembly.
- Discard the O-ring seal.







6. Detach the evaporator inlet from the clip.







7. Remove the suction accumulator screws and the suction accumulator.
8. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Install new O-ring seals.
- Lubricate the refrigerant system with the correct amount of clean mineral oil.

9. Evacuate, leak test and charge the refrigerant system.
