AUXILIARY EVAPORATOR OUTLET AND INLET LINE - FRONT







Removal and Installation

CAUTION: Refrigerant Compressor Oil (mineral oil) F73Z-19577-AA (Motorcraft YN-9-A) should be used to lubricate R-134a refrigerant system O-ring seals only and should not be added to the R-134a refrigerant system as an A/C compressor lubricant. PAG Refrigerant Compressor Oil F7AZ-19589-DA (Motorcraft YN-12-C) or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSH-M1C231-B only should be used as an A/C compressor lubricant.

NOTE: Installation of a new accumulator is not required when repairing the air conditioning system except when there is physical evidence of contamination from a failed A/C compressor or damage to the accumulator.

1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.
2. Recover the refrigerant.
3. Remove the RH running board brackets.
4. Disconnect the 2 A/C line fittings.
- Discard the O-ring seals.

5. Remove the 2 auxiliary line front brackets.
6. Remove the auxiliary line bracket bolt.
- To install, tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb-in).

7. Remove the 2 A/C line fitting nuts.
- Discard the O-ring seals.
- To install, tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb-in).

8. Remove the 3 auxiliary line center bracket bolts.
9. Remove the 3 auxiliary line center brackets.
10. Remove the auxiliary line outlet.
11. Remove the auxiliary line inlet.
12. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Install new O-ring seals, lubricated in clean mineral oil.
- Lubricate the refrigerant system with the correct amount of clean PAG oil.

13. Evacuate, leak test and charge the refrigerant system.
