Removal and Installation

CAUTION: Refrigerant compressor oil (mineral oil) should be used to lubricate R-134a refrigerant system O-ring seals only and should not be added to the R-134a refrigerant system as an A/C compressor lubricant. PAG refrigerant compressor oil only should be used as an A/C compressor lubricant.

NOTE: Installation of a new suction accumulator is not required when repairing the air conditioning system, except when there is physical evidence of system contamination from a failed A/C compressor or damage to the suction accumulator.

1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.
2. Recover the refrigerant.
3. Remove the condenser outlet fitting nut.
- Discard the O-ring seal.
- To install, tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb-in).

4. Remove the 5 bumper cover screws.
5. Remove the condenser inlet fitting nut.
- Discard the O-ring seal.
- To install, tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb-in).

6. Remove the compressor manifold and tube bracket bolt.
7. Disconnect the cooler line clip.







8. Detach the line routing clips from the lower radiator support.
9. Correctly support the lower radiator support and remove the 4 lower radiator support bolts.
10. Correctly support the cooling module and remove the lower radiator support.
11. Remove the 2 condenser bracket bolts.
12. Remove the condenser core.
13. Remove the 2 condenser brackets.
14. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Install new O-ring seals lubricated in clean mineral oil.
- Lubricate the refrigerant system with the correct amount of clean PAG oil.

15. Evacuate, leak test and charge the refrigerant system.
