SEAT TRACK - BUCKET AND 40 PERCENTRemoval
WARNING:
- The safety belt pretensioner is a pyrotechnic device. Always wear safety glasses when repairing an air bag equipped vehicle and when handling a safety belt buckle pretensioner or safety belt retractor pretensioner. Never probe a pretensioner electrical connector. Doing so could result in pretensioner or air bag deployment and could result in personal injury.
- To reduce the risk of personal injury, do not use any memory saver devices.
NOTE:
- If a seat equipped with a seat mounted side air bag and/or a safety belt pretensioner (if equipped) system is being serviced, the supplemental restraint system (SRS) must be depowered.
- The air bag warning lamp illuminates when the RCM fuse is removed and the ignition switch is ON. This is normal operation and does not indicate a supplemental restraint system (SRS) fault.
- The SRS must be fully operational and free of faults before releasing the vehicle to the customer.
- Driver seat is shown, passenger seat is similar.
1. Depower the SRS.
2. Remove the affected seat.
3. Remove the affected seat backrest assembly.
4. Remove the seat track spring.
5. Remove the four bolts and remove the cushion assembly.
6. Remove the push nuts.
7. Remove the seat track adjustment lever.
- Remove one side of the seat track adjustment lever at a time.
8. Release the two J-clips and remove the rear seat frame cover material.
9. Remove the eight nuts and separate the seat track from the seat cushion frame.
Installation
1. Install the seat cushion frame on the seat track and install the eight nuts.
2. Install the rear seat frame material and attach the two J-clips.
3. Install the seat track adjustment lever.
- Install one side of the seat track adjustment lever at a time.
4. Install the push nuts.
5. Install the cushion assembly and install the four bolts.
6. Install the seat track spring.
7. Install the affected seat backrest assembly.
8. Install the affected seat.
9. Repower the SRS.
